The Trusted K9 Occupational Wellness & Resilience Resource
Why bishop’s mission exists
At Bishop's Mission, we believe the wellness of the dog and the wellness of the human are inseparable.
Mission Ready. Team Supported.
Bishop's Mission's K9 Occupational Wellness Program exists because working dogs, K9s, service dogs for veterans & responders, department facility dogs, search & rescue teams, give everything to the people who depend on them. We believe the humans and dogs behind that work deserve support that goes beyond a one-time donation or a single vet bill.
Through our CARE Framework: Connect, Assess, Resource, Educate. Every enrolled team gets a real, ongoing relationship with Bishop's Mission: a structured conversation about their dog's health and work life (a CARE Review), a personalized plan built around their goals (not a generic checklist), and continued check-ins as life changes, a new assignment, an aging dog, a tough season. When appropriate, we help connect handlers with trusted professionals, educational resources, and, when donations allow, direct support like our Emergency Veterinary Fund.
This isn't a certification program, and it's not a substitute for your veterinarian. It's education, collaboration, and a team in your corner for the working life of your dog, and beyond.
Whether you're a handler, a department, or a supporter, welcome to the community.

Get Involved
Supporting Bishop’s Mission means standing alongside first responders, veterans and the support K9s who work beside them. Individuals, businesses, and organizations can get involved by volunteering their time, making tax-deductible donations, or becoming a sponsor to directly support on-call peer support services, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and ASAP response efforts, and continuation of care for service dogs and department support K9s. Every contribution—whether time, resources, or financial support—helps ensure timely peer support after critical incidents and that K9 programs are sustained well beyond initial startup.
